I am announcing my candidacy for President of the Tulsa SharePoint User Group 2010. The elections will be held during a special meeting with the Tulsa .NET Developers User Group on February 24th, 2010, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM

Note: We will NOT have a regular meeting on the 2nd Monday this month.

I have been serving as the Vice President of the group for the last year and I am a Microsoft Certified Application Developer with 14+ years experience developing software applications and I’m currently working for Tulsa Technology Center.

I would like to share what I have learned about SharePoint with other developers while continuing to expand my knowledge of SharePoint as well.

Following are a few ideas I would like to implement in 2010:

  1. Increase awareness, membership and sponsorship of the user group.
  2. Utilize FaceBook and LinkedIn to increase the user group’s online presence.
  3. Do a better job of video taping the monthly meetings and posting the video’s in timely manner. This would allow members of the community that are unable to attend the meetings to view the content while increasing the awareness of the SharePoint User Group.

Each one is very important and much needed! We can accomplish so much more with everyone doing a little bit of work, instead of a few doing all of it.

This year we are going to hold our elections with the .NET User Group's and we are having the meeting on a special night. Wednesday February 24th

This was necessary due to a Windows SharePoint Services Development class that BJ Pohl is teaching on Monday night and this way we can make sure that everybody has a chance to vote.

Note: We will NOT be having our regular meeting on the 2nd Monday this month.
